The laissez-faire City of Amsterdam is renowned for its hedonistic approach to life — and it is only fitting that it is home to the world’s foremost museum of sex. The museum is located on the city’s busy Damrak street adjacent to the central train station. This interactive museum combines historical relics along with pop culture in order to create a one of a kind experience. The Sex Museum assaults all of your senses with different on-topic audio being piped into each of the Museums various rooms.

The museum has a wide collection of traditional art in addition to photographs, but it is able to effectively straddle the fine line between culture and pornography. Touring this venue yields an experience somewhere between a theme park and a museum — and it is a rare way to become both aroused as well as educated at the same time. The museum is open everyday from 10:00am to 11:30pm, and admission is three Euros. Amsterdam’s famed Red Light District is only a few blocks away for those who desire a bit more hands-on interactive experience after the tour.
