Weird Japanese fetishes are such a vast world that you can get lost in it and discover new niches within the universe that you didn’t even know existed. Today’s example is Omorashi. This is a fetish where guys get turned on by seeing a woman or a girl having to hold in her pee in an embarrassing or awkward social setting, and then finally release it and succumb to the shame of wetting themselves.

It is not to be confused with a “normal” urine fetish; the focus here is on the urge to go and the shame of wetting oneself. The fetish is commonly translated to western language as “female pee desperation, accidental wetting, or panty wetting.

Although most fetishes involving bathroom activities are usually considered too hardcore for mainstream Japan, omorashi involves being clothed, often as a schoolgirl or professional woman, so it lends itself to mainstream culture. For this reason, omorashi has shown up in game shows, television dramas, and anime as a more tolerable brand of fixation. One of the animes featuring omorashi even spawned a spin off toilet paper line, with images of the character in public wetting situations seen on the sheets of 2-ply.

Omorashi illustrates an interesting focus of a lot of Japanese fetish culture. It is often more about social dynamics and shaming than it is about physical sensations of doing something to another or having something done to you. In this light, you can see the connection between something like Omorashi and the infamous Bukkake.
